Pandora's Tower Review - Curses, Puzzles, and True Love
Pandora's Tower was a title brought to NA by Operation Rainfall, a protest that brought 3 last great Japanese RPG's to the Wii. The games protagonist Aeron is trying to help lift his love interest Elena's horrible curse which turns her into a Beast. Aeron must reach the top of 13 seperate towers to defeat a powerful foe at the top and return the Beast Flesh for Elena to consume so she does not end up a beast forever. Pandora's Tower has a slightly morbid, gruesome story, but that shouldn't stop anyone from trying it out. The graphics are great for the Wii, the soundtrack is amazing, and the story is a tale that will make you want to finish the game to the end. In terms of game play, the combat may take a little time to grasp onto, but as you go through the towers in the game you will not only be fighting, but also solving puzzles, and traversing up the towers in a way that I can relate to Prince of Persia games. The story also reminds me of Shadow of the Colossus and ICO, but is a completely different experience because the game was so well done. It may be a leap back from this current gen's games, but if you want a deep immersive story, a fun and intruiging battle system with some puzzle challenges, pandora's tower is the game for you. It also includes somewhat of a "dating sim" as well. How you interact with Elena, and how far your relationship gets with her will determine different endings of the game. Don't be turned off by the game, just give it a try and I promise you it will at least be worth it if you are a hardcore jrpg fan.

This Generation - PS3 and XBOX 360 - My Thoughts
Here's a list of all the PS3 Exclusives I can think of.
Atelier
Infamous
Uncharted
Ico/Shadow of the Colossus Collection
Katamari Forever
Ratchet and Clank collection/games
Journey
Flower
Folklore
Valkyria Chronicles
Trinity
SOCOM
Hyperdimension Neptunia
Demon's Souls
Disgaea 4
God of War
God of War Collections
Gran Turismo
White Knight Chronicles
Twisted Metal
Mugen Souls
Heavy Rain
The Last of Us
Little Big Planet games
Killzone
Heavenly Sword
Makai Wars
and many others that I can not think of.... these games alone made the ps3 a worthwhile system for me to buy... I wont however, argue that I don't like the xbox 360, but i have always been a huge fan of the playstation 1, 2, 3. now I would hate them honestly if they got rid of the dualshock controller, but for certain reasons such as ffx hd, and kingdom hearts 3 i will be getting a ps4 if those decide to come out for the next gen. will i be happy? no. because i mostly bought a ps3 for playing those two games. but still, the ps3 did have a huge library of exclusives. let me run the 360s by for you.
Halo games (duh)
Fable (which I personally loved)
Forza
Magna Carta 2
Beautiful Katamari
Happy Wars
Dance Central (even though i prefer just dance for the wii)
Infinite undiscovery
The Last Remnant
Left4Dead
Saints Row
Dead or Alive
Blue Dragon
Banjo Kazooie
BattleZone
FEZ
Gears of War
Minecraft
Dead Rising (the first one)
Lost Odyssey
and again many more. The xbox 360 ALSO has a huge library of exclusives.
I can't like BOTH of these systems enough. I JUST THINK OF THEM AS THIS GENERATION OF SYSTEMS. I honestly don't think we need anything better...
I would be fine with the 360 and ps3 forever as long as they kept coming out with GREAT games.
I don't need any more new systems. I haven't gotten a vita yet. I'm fine with going back and playing MORE games that I haven't played before. I play my ps2 still, my gamecube, my NES, my N64, my SNES, my Genesis, DREAMCAST, my Wii, (again havent been able to get a wii u yet either), my GBA, my psp, 3DS, and ALL THE OTHER OLD SYSTEMS DILLIGENTLY.
As a gamer I love all systems, and I do not compare one to the other. All I wanna do is game. I haven't gotten to play everything I want to from MANY generations ago. And especially not this one....
I dont see why we need new systems but it seems inevitable.
WHY do people have to fight over what f*cking system is better than the other. they BOTH have their ups and downs and obviously if you don't think that then you HAVENT PLAYED BOTH SYSTEMS BEFORE. YOU OBVIOUSLY ARENT A TYPE OF GAMER THAT OPENS THEIR F*CKING MIND TO OTHER GAMES THAN CALL OF F*CKING DUTY.
STOP. FIGHTING.
become open minded to other games that you may not have thought you would like before, go back and play older games from your childhood, or games where you think the graphics are "crappy" because there is really more to games than graphics.... storytelling, character development.... there is SO MUCH MORE than shooting things and good graphics.

A letter to ATLUS.
Hello Atlus!
I just wanted to let you know as a fan that many others and myself are considering you as one of the greatest video game companies of all time.
We will continue to support you and your products, and continue to buy your games because you treat your fans and supporters well.
Atlus has not failed to put out quality games, and never skimps on giving the fans what they want.
We are seeing more and more game companies fall and fail, and they are losing our trust, and support such as Sega, Square Enix, and Capcom.
Don't get me wrong, I enjoy and appreciate other games, but I feel as if you give back to your fans more.
That Holiday e-card you sent out to our emails of Teddie was heartwarming, and you have not been putting out crappy games from what I can think of EVER.
Many others agree with me. Here is a quote someone told me the other day:
"Atlus is truly my favorite game developer/publisher out there.
They have fantastic customer support, bring us fantastic translation games from Japan, and they just generally care about their customers/fans. These folks set the bar for all game developers/publishers, and the rest out there could learn and thing or two from them."
I completely agree, and all I can say is this may not reach many people, or someone important or in charge at all, but I felt the need to put it out there that Atlus is doing a fantastic job at keeping us happy and staying true to how they make their games.
If that wasn't true, well, I wouldn't have been buying your games all these years, but I am, and many others are.
We are all so excited to see what you put in front of us next, and we appreciate your hard work and dedication.
Atlus creates masterpieces. It is as simple as that.
P.s. I can't wait for Etrian Odyssey IV. Awesome job on P4 Arena and Code of Princess recently.
Stay good Atlus, you are at the top.
Sincerely, Khmasterx.

Dead Rising 2 - Don't knock it till you try it.
So about a year, or two ago I was at my friend's house watching him play the newly released Dead Rising 2, the first day it came out.
At the time I was not a very big fan of Zombie/Survival games, although I had played my fair share, but I had heard a lot of good things about Dead Rising, and I also heard a lot of Skepticism.
When you first start playing Dead Rising 2, the main character, Chuck Greene, a famous motocross star, is put on a TV show called, TERROR IS REALITY. On the show Terror is Reality, your host, TK, explains the rules of how you must basically kill all of the zombies in the ring, using your bike, and whoever kills the most wins.
Simple Enough, Might I add, Terror is Reality is also Dead Rising 2's multiplayer, and before I go on let me talk about how much fun it is.
There are about 8, or more different mini-games, or so I have seen , where you compete against other players by killing Zombies in different ways.
There are 3 "games" to play which could consist of shooting zombies, killing them and spurting zombie blood into zombie heads accross the court, or even rolling in a hamster ball like a game of tag. The 4th round always ends with the original challenge where you try to kill as many zombies as you can on your bike.
The multiplayer may sound stupid, but it is in fact a lot of fun! Also, a major plus of playing the multiplayer is that you win cash from it, that you can actually cash out at the end and put it into your Story mode of the game, and it is completely usable for Chuck.
As for co-op you can also go into any game and play with someone else slaying zombies.
Now for the main plot of the game, again you are Chuck Greene, and you and your daughter are running from zombies, and barely escape alive into a safe house in Fortune City, Nevada. Apparently, Chuck's wife died from a zombie attack, and his daughter Katie was bitten, and can turn any day, if you do not bring her the antidote: Zombrex, every 24 hours between 7am - 8am.
Chuck and everyone else, is stuck in the safe house until the military arrives in 72 hours. The guy running the safe house will not let you stay unless you bring back Zombrex for Katie.
In these 72 hours of the game you can: Save survivors in fortune city which are scattered, do quests, which involve saving people, or fighting mini-"bosses", or just run around and slay as many zombies as you can, create combo weapons, or mix drinks ect.
As for the combination weapon system, it is AWESOME. You can pick up random items as long as they have a wrench icon, and mix and combine different weapons to create an awesome one. For example you can combine a flashlight and gems to create a lightsaber. Use Water guns, boxing gloves, chainsaws, propane tanks, wheelchairs, guitars, you name it. There are plenty of combinations, and stores to keep you busy for hours.
At the core of this is a really good game. It could keep me busy for hours, if I wanted to do a playthrough run of just slaying zombies and ignored the side quests and the main story, which you can do.
But overall, the story is pretty deep, and also entertaining, personally, I could play this game through a few times whether it be the story, or just running around on my own leveling and such.
Dead Rising 2 is an awesome game, and I can't wait to play more. Don't be skeptical if you are, I would try it if I were you since you can typically get it anywhere for 20 dollars now. It's well worth it if you're looking for either a shorter plotline, and countless things to do.
Might it also be noted, that there is some customization other than weapons in Dead Rising 2. You can also customize Chuck with different outfits, different hair, and even ride around on a skateboard, drive a hummer, ect. Chuck can also bring back toys from toy shops for his daughter Katie, giving him an experience plus.
Dead Rising 2 is a game that you shouldn't pass up if you are into zombie survival games for sure. It has plenty to do, and a great replay value.
Overall, I give Dead Rising 2 a rating of 9/10.
